Eoc (Ethernet Over Copper)

Eoc (Ethernet Over Copper)

Ethernet over Copper is an excellent technology to lower your Internet Costs. EoC uses copper wire to bring you Internet speeds greater than T1 (or bonded T1). It starts at 2 meg and can grow to 50 meg or greater. EoC is sometimes called “turbo-charged DSL.” While they are related, they are very different products.

They both use copper wire, they both are distance sensitive, and the Central Office needs to be equipped with specific equipment for them to be available. However, that is where the similarities end. DSL has an upload and a download speed (dynamic). EoC is a symmetric product that gives you the same upload and download speed. DSL uses a DSLAM which can cause extreme traffic congestion while EoC does not with expandable bandwith. Finally EoC comes with an SLA and is a more robust product.

The day of the T1 for Internet Access has come to an end. 1.5 meg into the Internet just does not provide enough bandwidth for today’s needs. EoC can be bought in smaller increments and can easily scale to meet your needs in the future with expandable internet and expandable bandwidth.

A 2 Meg EoC circuit starts at $249.00. That is less than the price of a T1. And the prices look even better as you scale upwards. Contact TelecomMedic today and let us provide you with prices and options to consider when making use of an EoC circuit.
